Fabio Briganti Musical Boxes
Fabio Briganti has been involved for over twenty years in the study of ancient and popular music. He plays stringed and bowed instruments such as violin, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, mandola, dulcimer, guitar, oud, viella, rebeca, citole, saz, bell cittern. The passion for these sounds prompted him from the beginning to deepen, in parallel with the acquisition of traditional playing techniques, the study of lutherie and ancient construction procedures. Over time he has become an established manufacturer, he exhibited his instruments at the International Festival of violin making and music of Saint-Chartier and for fifteen years he has held a course in popular violin making at the Popular Music School of Forlimpopoli. Many of the instruments built by Fabio are used and updated by the Marcabru through modern and experimental executive techniques or contextualizations. The electrification or distortion of popular instruments becomes the manifesto of Marcabru's making music: a conscious legacy of the past but with a straight look at the future, because tradition is a becoming and not a museum object!
