THE REAL LOVER
Tradotta in 3 lingue da «Integrity» in «The Gift» di Hafiz
Few Have the Strength To be a Real
LOVER -
That rare Man or Woman Who always keep Their Word.
Even an Angel needs rest.
Integrity gives you a Body so vast
A thousand winged ones will Plead,
“May I Lay my Cheek against
YOU?”
Even an Angel needs rest.
Integrity gives you a Body so vast
A thousand winged ones will Plead, “may I?

IN THE DARK SHADOWS
Ispirata ai dialoghi di «Edge of Dark Water» di Joe R. Lansdale
He don’t do nothing
But wait till someone wants to hire him.
He’s out there somewhere,
In his tent made of skins,
All them bones hanging around it,
Rattling in the breeze.
Skunk Skunk It is
He’s like heat, wind, rain and the earth.
Days to him ain’t nothing.
He ain’t one for time.
He got him a taste of killing.
Once he sets out on the job
He’s going to finish it.
Come Hell or high water,
Even he takes his time about it
You laugh you want
But you better believe it.
Skunk’s out there
And you run up on him
It’s the last running you gonna do
Twisty red hair
Dried-up blue-bird
Chopped off hands

L’OGRE
On s'informe.

E s’avvicina l’ora
Di cominciare un nuovo amore
E insieme l’ora di finirlo.
Così passa l’età.
Chissà se un segno
Lasceremo, magari
senza accorgercene:
Una pietra squadrata tra le pietre
Dell’enorme piramide, o una spoglia
D’ossa in un loculo.

THE WHEEL
Rotolata giù da «The Tower» di W. B. Yeats
THROUGH winter-time we call on spring,
And through the spring on summer call,
And when abounding hedges ring
Declare that winter's best of all;
And after that there’s nothing good
Because the spring – time has not come –
Nor know that what disturbs our blood
Is but its longing for the tomb.

ALICE IN THE SKIES
She-volata via da «Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There» di Lewis Carroll
A boat, beneath a sunny sky
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July -
Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear -
In a wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
In a wonderland they lie,
Ever drifting down the stream -
Lingering in the golden dream
Life, what is but a dream?
Life, what is but a dream?
She
Alice haunts me
Long has paled that sunny sky
Echoes fade and memories die.
Autumn frosts have slain July.
Echoes fade and memories die.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear
Lovingly shall nestle near.
Eager eye and willing ear.
She
Alice haunts me

FIORI DEFORMI
Fiori deFormi
Appaiono fiori deFormi
Mi hai chiesto, per amore,
Di non amarti,
Perché t’inquieta
Non saper riamare.
Edipo
Per le vie di Tebe
Ora so che l’Amore
Andrà vagando in noi
A rischiarare
L’oscurità del mondo.
Edipo acciecato
Per le vie di Tebe
Ora so
Fiori deformi
Appaiono fiori deformi
Nulla è meno simile alla vita,
Di queste tue laboriose
E tormentate assenze.
Edipo dolce sogno
Per le vie di Tebe
Ora so
Come fa il ragno
Fiori deFormi
Tra i sonni i perduti
Appaiono fiori deFormi

Avere giorno senza
Avere giorno senza una
Avere giorno senza una lingua

Stringendo in bocca il consonante rumore
Stringendo in bocca il consonante rumore
Restare un giorno in cui
Restare un giorno in cui le nuvole
Abbaiano come neve
Sbadigliano come neve
Abbagliano come neve
Gridare come le nubi gridano
Passare come le nubi passano
Con passo d’animali immensi
Animali immensi e lievi
Passi d’animali immensi
Animali immensi e lievi

BILLY IN THE DARBIES
Emersa da «Billy Budd» di Hermann Melville
Good of the Chaplain to enter Lone Bay
And down on his marrow-bones here and pray
For the likes just o' me, Billy Budd. -- But look:
Through the port comes the moon-shine astray!
It tips the guard's cutlas and silvers this nook;
But 'twill die in the dawning of Billy's last day.
A jewel-block they'll make of me to-morrow,
Pendant pearl from the yard-arm-end
Like the ear-drop I gave to Bristol Molly –
O, 'tis me, not the sentence they'll suspend.
Ay, Ay, Ay, all is up; and I must up to
Early in the morning, aloft from alow.
A blur's in my eyes; it is dreaming that I am.
A hatchet to my hawser? all adrift to go?
The drum roll to grog, and Billy never know?
But me they'll lash me in hammock,
Drop me deep. Fathoms down, fathoms down,
How I'll dream fast asleep. I am sleepy,
And the oozy weeds about me twist.
