Progressive folk in all senses

THE HEAVY ARTILLERY
inspired by Hafiz's work
Sound said to me, “I want to be holy”
I replied, “Dear, what ‘s the problem? You already are”
Then Sound quipped back, “What do you mean?”
“Well, the wind speaks, does it not?
And what about the refrain of geese?
And what the moo and the baa and the rooster at dawn,
And the chorus from the sea and the rain, and the thunder?
Is not it all part of Id, thus sacred?
I think Id has surrounded us;
We better give up or Id might bring out the heavy artillery…
Like just outright lifting Ids skirt everywhere
Think of all the sweet madness that would cause”

CHAPEL TRAIN
inspired by "La beauté" - Charles Baudelaire
I sleep in Chapel Train, I dream in Chapel Train
I see from Chapel Train, the praise of a stone,
the glory of her throne
Tu es belle ma soeur, comme un rêve de pierre
Je suis belle, ô mortels! Comme un rêve de pierre
Je trône dans l'azur comme un sphinx incompris;
J'unis un cœur de neige à la blancheur des cygnes;
Consumeront leurs jours en d'austères études;
Car j'ai, pour fasciner ces dociles amants,
De purs miroirs qui font toutes choses plus belles:
Mes yeux, mes larges yeux aux clartés éternelles!
And I have to dream, I have to see
The praise of the stone, the glory of her throne

As You’ve seen Me
Inside mind Mists of You
Inside light touching You

ASTEROIDS
inspired by "Humankind" - Timothy Morton
We are the asteroid.
It’s under my skin and it is my skin.
The uncanny spectrality...
Uncanniness, paranoia ambiguity indices of reality.
World is perforated. Only ever something you can be poor in. Cheap enough for everything to have it. A range of overlapping worlds. Shared worlds with all kinds of tattered, broken worlds.
Shared worlds with other tattered broken worlds. The world of spiders, the world of tigers, the world of bacteria. Personal identity needs an upgrade or downgrade world to a manifold inviting to nonhuman beings. This cat isn’t a guest in my house; it’s a member of the family. We are both guests of each other, guests of the house, and the house is a guest of ourselves.
We are the asteroid. We are Spiders.
We are Tigers. We are Bacteria.
World is always spectral.
World is the noise your behaviour makes.

BLAKE'S DIVINE LIGHT
inspired by William Blake's work
Blake’s Divine Light
Pouring down Dante’s Moat/ Mount/ Motte
I Corpi nudi, spiriti allontanati
Sublimi Stracci, fra le Mani
Sotto gli Occhi
Blake’s Divine Light
Pouring down on Me/Mount/ Motte/ Moat
I don’t want
Le Paradis s’attend
Anymore
I Leave
Le Paradis Satan

DR. N
inspired by "Dr. Nigger" - Neal Hall
Dr. Nigger, can you cure me without touching me with nigga hands. Can you save my life, without changing my life with those nigga hands. Can you dance soft-shoe while humming those negro tunes while you save my life.
Dr. Nigger, can you reach past the life we’ve taken from you and save my life without letting the white life pass me by.
Can you stay on the colored side of the color line and reach across your woes without touching me with those nigga hands
to restart my blue heart, without changing my cold heart.
Can you reach inside yourself beyond the shit we put in you…
past painful moments we put in you… past despair and hopelessness we’ve put in you and find that old black magic in you to change my life without touching
all the shit we put in you.
Dr. Nigger, can you be bigger for just one minute in it, for more than just one minute in it, to save my life sans prendre ma vie.
Can you dance soft-shoe while humming negro tunes when my white life codes blue. Ma vie se teint de bleu.
Can you breathe in me air free of nigga from a nigger not free to breathe in free air.
Can you cure me, sans me toucher
Can you save my life, sans la changer

ASK THE DUST
inspired by "Ask the dust" - John Fante
Here I go, let me be
O boy do, I love it
O God do, I love you
And you and you and you
Here I go, feel so good
Feel so sweet, warm and soft
Delicious, delirious
Up the river and over the see
This is you and this is me
Here I go…
...and this is me
Oui oui oui
Big fat words
Little fat words
Big thin words
Little thin words
Here I go…
…and this is me

GRIFFY THE COOPER
inspired by "Spoon River Anthology" - Edgar Lee Masters
THE cooper should know about tubs
But I learned about life as well,
And you who loiter around these graves
Think you know life
You think your eye sweeps about a wide horizon, perhaps,
In truth you are only looking around the interior of your tub
You cannot lift yourself to its rim
And see the outer world of things,
And at the same time see yourself,
And at the same time see yourself
You are submerged in the tub of yourself —
Taboos and rules and appearances, Are the staves of your tub
Break them and dispel the witchcraft
Of thinking your tub is life!
And that you know life!
And that you know life!
You are submerged in the tub of yourself —
Taboos and rules and appearances, Are the staves of your tub

CLAWS IN THE SKY
inspired by "Shantaram" - Gregory David Roberts
My love put claws in the sky
But what the claws? What the paws?
Which lightness in the bones? Which silence of blood’s flow?
To thread through the spacey cemetery?
And tread upon the unborn mystery?
Too heavy for Heaven, too loud for a cloud
How is it to have your claws in the sky?
Can Heaven be gripped? And taken back to you?
Or is it climbing the dream?
Too heavy for Heaven, my love
Too loud for a cloud, put claws in the sky
Won’t it be ripped open? I don’t want that
Just try and hang up there still… Printed in the blue tapestry
But what the claws? What the paws?
Which lightness in the bones? Which silence of blood’s flow?
To thread through the spacey cemetery?
And tread upon the unborn mystery?
Too loud for a cloud
